2020-2021 Speech and Debate Team Auditions!

2020-2021 AVHS Speech & Debate Team Informational Meeting and Auditions

Come join the AVHS Speech and Debate team.  Regardless of the school's status (Hybrid, Distance or In Person), our season is on!  For the time being most of our practices and all of our tournaments will be virtual, which is good news since we will have the chance to speak and perform no matter what!  If you want to learn more about our programs (speech and debate) and the process for joining our team, we encourage you to join us for the Informational Meeting which will happen Monday or Tuesday (9/21/20 and 9/22/20) during lunch in Room B122.  See Mr. Voss or Mr. Ostrander for a pink pass.  Otherwise, all of the information necessary to audition is available below. 

Auditions 9/29/20 and 9/30/20

 Fill this form out completely before the auditions, which will be held on Tuesday, August 29th and Wednesday, August 30th. (You need to be logged into your Collab account to access the form). You need to review the "Student and Parent/Guardian Release" section at the bottom with your parents/guardians and have them email their acceptance of that information to Mr. Ostrander and Dr. Voss prior to auditions.

Auditions will be held on Zoom between 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. Signups for time slots will be through Signup Genius. You only need to sign up for one time slot. The link to the auditions will be emailed out on Monday, August 28th to everyone who signed up for time slots. You'll need to login to Zoom a little before your time slot, and will be held in the waiting room until the coaches are ready to see your audition. Then you'll be let into the Zoom for your audition. If you are unavailable for those times, please contact Mr. Ostrander ASAP to arrange for another time that works. 

The audition packet is posted below. For speech, you need to prepare 2 different selections from the packet for the auditions. For debate, the instructions of what to prepare are at the top of the packet.
